Netflix: Stranger Things Promos

To promote the third season of Stranger Things, we (Netflix) joined forces with a few brands like Microsoft & Google.

The results were fun, engaging, and naturally, a little strange.

GOOGLE LENS x STRANGER THINGS

We partnered with Google to and took out an ad in the New York Times that prompted fans to scan it using Google Lens. When they did, it launched ah AR experience that began playing some 80s style commercials for businesses in Starcourt Mall.

STRANGER THINGS x MICROSOFT

Season three of Stranger Things takes place in the summer of 1985. The same year that Microsoft’s Windows 1.0 was released.

So we decided to give fans everywhere the chance to travel back to 1985 by creating an app called Windows 1.11 (get it).

The app was packed full of hidden clues about the new season, including secrets hidden in the first version of Microsoft Paint, clips from the show,, and even an old-fashioned dungeon crawl-style game that helps you unlock the secrets of Stranger Things 3.
